A Lesson in Economics

We've been studying unit pricing and such things in math. Today, I decided to test the kids to see how good of a shopper they were. $565.10 later I have an answer. They are excellent shoppers. They got everything I would have gotten - the correct brands, sizes, everything.

I gave each child a list, a pencil and a cart. Then I went to get a few things and waited for their return. I had told them to stick to the lists with the exception of $3.00 they could use to buy what they wanted. Jacob chose Hot Pockets, Carly chose Sour Patch Kids, Wes chose Skittles and Ryan bought a box of drumstick ice cream cones.

The plan is to not go back to the grocery except for milk and bread till after I get back from Alaska. But when I do go back, I'll be taking my helpers with me.
