Eggstravaganza 2011

Billski and I took the kids, along with Sophie and Keegan to church today for the Easter party and egg hunt. Jacob and Carly helped with the games and the others played.

Keegan was totally unsure of the Bunny and it was all I could do to talk him into standing remotely close to Sophie.

He was also unsure of the potato sack race, but with Baba's help, he got into the race.

Keegan was just happy to have enough tickets for a ring pop. Everything else was a bonus.

What he did like was finding and opening eggs. He would look so happy that every egg actually had candy in it.

Patiently waiting for the doors to open and the fun to begin.

Keegan turns 3 today!

What a fast 3 years this has been. How can so much boy be in one little kid? Keegan, currently sporting yet another black eye has had more black eyes in 3 years than the rest of our family combined.

He is a rough and tumble ready to go kind of kid -- who also loves to "snoogle." A man of many moods, who never fails to make my heart happy with a "running hug." He loves cars and will play with them for hours. He eats like a pig at Mamawland, yet hardly ever eats at home, from what I'm told. He now wants to accompany me everywhere I go and does a lot of the time.

He's starting to get ideas of his own, but in the meantime, whatever Sophie asks to do, he echoes it with "And I?" He would follow Sophie to the end of the earth and back. I hope they are always best friends.

He's Baba's little buddy and will sit with him and watch TV, content as a puppy with its' momma. He loves to visit Mamaw's ice cream shop and if asked the name of it, he replies...."bitsnpieces" -- like it's all one word.

Keegan brings so much joy to our family and we were certainly blessed when he was born.

Happy Birthday K-man. Mamaw loves you bunches and bunches!

A piece of quiet

Jacob is napping because he doesn't feel well. Carly, Wesley and Ryan have gone swimming. Bill, being the best Baba around, has taken Sophie and Keegan to the splash park. And all is quiet for the moment.

"And it has a bell so they can hear me coming."

Mission Accomplished.

Sophie and the Chest Hair

Billski has chest hair -- Big Guy does not. That's important to understand as I record this story for my family. Sophie was sleeping with me the other night when Billski got home from work. When he came to bed, she was still awake...barely.

After he got in bed and got still, he said he felt her little hand rubbing his chest -- real gently, back and forth, like he was a puppy. As he laid there trying not to laugh at her, she started just resting her hand on his curly chest hair and sort of bouncing her palm up and down and just giggling. She walked her fingers through it for awhile and finally gave him a final pat, a kiss on his arm and rolled over to go to sleep, happy as a 3 year old can be who just got to explore the great unknown.

Up too early

Ryan woke Sophie up this morning as he was getting ready for school. She stumbled out of the bedroom, rubbing her eyes and asked me, "Is it time to say good morning sunshine already?" When I assured it wasn't, she happily went and slept beside Baba for another few hours.

Sophie & Baba

Not sure where Sophie came up with the name Baba for Billski, but it has stuck. She loves Baba and can talk him out of and into just about anything.

Overcoming Farnarner

We have been threatening Billski since Andi found out she was pregnant with Sophie that if he did not come up with a name he wanted to be called by the grandkids, we would just call him Farnarner. Sophie is 18 months old and still no name -- so she took care of it herself.
Sophie has declared Billski to be BaBa. No idea why, but he is now BaBa.
