Thanks, thanks and thanks again
In just a few days I made my original fundraising goal for the Diabetes Walk. So naturally, I bumped up my goal a bit. Thank you so much to everyone who so quickly responded.
Diabetes affects so many people in so many ways. I'm sure you know someone who either has diabetes or loves someone who does. I had a stark reminder yesterday of how it affects our family.
I was driving with Sophie in the car and at a stoplight, a truck much like the one my dad drove, pulled up next to us. Sophie got all excited and started pointing and shouting, "Look Mamaw, it's Pappaw's truck. Look over there." And all I could do was try to answer her through my tears. "Yes, it looks like Pappaw's truck, but it's not. Remember, Pappaw lives with Jesus now." And she remembered. And was silent.
But back to today - because now I'm crying again and want to end this post. If you want to donate, all you have to do is click on my dad's nose. Go ahead. He won't mind. He'd get a kick out of knowing he was helping raise money for such a good cause.
