Snacktivity Day
Bill came home from visiting his dad the other day with some gifts for the kids from his sister, Lori. They were food kids by a company called Sassafrass. They weren't wrapped so naturally the kids wanted to do them immediately. That made today (drum roll here) "Snacktivity Day."
First up was Jacob's Alien Pizza, which came complete with a baker's hat and small rolling pin. He made the entire thing himself. The crust was green and the sauce was purple. He added pepperonis and sausage. Half of it is made wtih regular pizza sauce - it is not burned. It was actually pretty yummy.
While the dough was rising, Carly and I made her Magic Princess Fairy Dust cookies -- complete with pink magic wand. They were pink sugar cookies that came with a large star cookie cutter. The cookies were pretty but I've never seen so many kids simultaneously spit out a bite of icing, so I'm going to believe them when it was declared "nasty." The cookies themselves, were fine, however and didn't make it till the end of the day -- except the ones she had iced.
After lunch and before dessert, we moved on to Ryan's kit - chocolate mousse. He enjoyed whipping it up and pouring it into the provided holders and sprinkling the toppings on.
Wesley provided the actual after pizza dessert. His kit was a sundae kit, including ice cream scoop, dishes and spoons. We provided the ice cream. He made sundaes for everyone and added some chocolate syrup, sprinkles and tiny marshmallows. Wes still has the remants of his alien pizza around his mouth in this picture.
Except Soph. She didn't much care for it at all. she had less than one teaspoon and went through three bibs drooling it out bit by bit over the next 20 minutes.
In fact, when we discussed it later, she just had this dazed look -- like don't ever feed me that again.
