Picnic & Fun for Norm and everyone
We had a beautiful day for a picnic. The weather was absolutely gorgeous. The softball was fun to watch. Norm checked out home plate when he got there. At first he seemed a bit overwhelmed but it wasn't long till he made friends. Here he is with Sherie, a fabulous pitcher. Norm was giving her some tips. Everyone had such a good time we ended up throwing in an extra game of softball.
Norm also managed to jump in the picture with the winning team of the tourney. He's right in the middle - sitting on Tom's shoulder andbeing patted on the back by our preacher. You might not be able to read their lips but they were all shouting NORM. He's such a popular gnome. Tomorrow we may have a special communion - with Children's Tylenol for wine and Ibuprofin for the bread. Judging from the looks of the teams after they each played 2 games, I think I could get a big Amen on this idea.
Tonight we held another little Sophie shower - and I wanted to share this sweet picture of Big Guy reading while wrapped up in Sophie's new blanket.
Andi and I were in the kitchen working on awards to be presented in the morning at church for various dubious honors and Big Guy was reading...or so we thought.
After awhile we went in to check on him and found the glasses off, the book set aside but the blankey...well
let's just say it's very cuddly and leave it at that. It is so sweet how excited he is that he's going to be a daddy. Sometimes you can just tell he is imagining what it will be like - things like her laying on his chest while he reads. He is going to be an awesome dad. Sophie is one lucky baby girl.
