Great Update on Kaleb Owens

My family prays for Kaleb every day - I hope yours is too. Kaleb is now officially out of his coma, trying to speak, answering simple questions, going to therapy, following commands and amazing his doctors daily. Considering this child was never supposed to wake up from his coma, prayer is certainly working here. Please keep praying. Here is an update from his mother's Caring Bridge site.

Another day to praise our God!!!!!!!!!
At 6:30 this evening, Kaleb had his trach successfully removed. Kaleb had some scar tissue formed inside of his throat, this had to removed to make a clear airway. After that was removed they had to cut away some skin around the opening so that the hole would heal properly and cause no future complications.
Right now Kaleb is resting comfortably in his room at Rainbow Babies. They are keeping him for overnight observation. He will be back at the rehab tom. morning if his night goes smoothly. Which, I know it will because God has allowed him to come this far...why stop now?
Things are moving right on schedule. It looks like he may still come home next week if all goes well.
Thank you for your prayers for Kaleb. You know I was thinking...God's inbox must be really full with prayer messages about Kaleb! OH WELL! KEEP 'EM GOIN' UP!!!! THEY ARE WORKING...GOD IS WORKING!
