Is this a sign of OCD?

Ryan wanted to learn to snap his fingers. Really wanted to learn to snap his fingers. Can't emphasize enough how much he wanted to learn to snap his fingers. However, if he was awake I would take a picture of his thumb - or what is left of his thumb. He has literally worn a huge blister on his thumb learning to snap and the skin has peeled off. Now - he know how to snap, but can't because his thumb hurts.
