Wrapping it up

The weekend - not the presents. Friday night I had a great time with some friends just hanging out one last time all together before Vicki makes her move to Virginia. Yep, it was West Virginia last week, but things change and her residence was one of them. So now they will be in Virginia.

There were lots of tears as we watched a video filled with memories of the last seven years of friendship. We cried a bit more as we gave Vicki her going away gift. We had made a quilt with blocks that we had all written on and filled some with Bible verses on friendship.

Realizing we were sinking into a pit of depression we had some cheesecake and Dove chocolates and vowed to dry up and have some fun. We had a blast and even though Kelly was in the hospital recovering from a hysterectomy, we knew she wouldn't mind if we opened her Christmas gift she was getting, so we did. Turns out she was getting a really fun game, which we played for a bit.

Kelly, if you are reading this, please take note of the fantastic re-wrap I did on your gift. Years of practice put to good use. There was nothing I could do about the inside paper on the cards and such. Sorry

That was so much fun, we commenced to open another gift that was a WII Karaoke game and we will just let that dog lie and not talk about that.
Saturday, we had a family going away party for the Spaulding family. We had lots of fun trying out a game that I'm playing with my PEERS kids Monday night at their Christmas party.

I got a wonderful call informing me that my very good friend, Vicki Alvey is getting her wish for Christmas -- her first grandbaby is on the way! She said, "We just found out a few minutes ago. Meagan did three tests, they were all positive, we stared at her for about 5 minutes and then I told her, I've got people to call!" I'm so excited for her. She has been a great grammy to Sophie and Keegan and I can hardly wait to return the honor to her own grandbaby.

Our family did a reading and lit the Advent candles today at church. We lazed around all afternoon and this evening we all watched The Nativity Story together. I think this put a whole new insight to a story the kids have heard and read many times. I highly recommend it.

Just a few days till Christmas and Andi is out of school, so we have a lot of baking she wants to do. I'm sure I can find some willing taste testers somewhere if I look hard enough.
