What's in your heart?
Yesterday, Andi and I took Sophie and Keegan to the doctor for their yearly checkups. They are both healthy as can be. Keegan has managed to climb from the 15th to the 60th percentile in height and weight this past year. I like their doctor. He's a personal friend of theirs, a wonderful Christian and a big advocate of homeschooling. He posed a very good question as we were all discussing it, "How can you send a child to a godless enviroment for 14,000 hours and expect them to be Godly children?"
Sophie was telling the doctor that she has plans to be a doctor when she grows up. She's been stuck on this idea ever since she saw him use a huge needle to draw fluid off of Andi's knee where she injured it skating. She's totally fascinated with shot needles now. After yesterday, she also has a new fascination with checking reflexes so I foresee some sore kneecaps around here.
Anyhow, she was telling him how blood goes through your body as he was listening to her heart, he asked her if she knew what was in her heart.
Her answer, without hesitation was, "Yes, Jesus. Jesus is in my heart."
