Armed with 50 bucks and Easter Seals coupons
that the kids got for Halloween, we headed to Evansville today when Ryan got home from school. The 50 bucks was hard earned babysitting money so they wanted to combine it with their coupons and see just how much we could do in the day.
So after a stop at Donut Bank for free donut balls, we went bowling. Five kids (Sophie included) bowled. Well, four kids bowled and Sophie slowly, painfully watched her ball roll down the lane. The longest recorded time we watched one ball was 34 seconds. And then when she knocked over some pins, she would jump for joy, shouting, "I did it, I did it." She let me help her a few times but then she wanted no help because it was "her job and I just needed to go sit with my family." Much like the same attitude she had during Trick or Treating Saturday.
After bowling, we went to G.D. Ritzy's for free ice cream and then to the movies where it was cheap day. At the movies we enjoyed six bags of free popcorn and shared one drink (which was refilled multiple times).
We finished up the day buying 5/5.95 burgers and a corn dog at Sonic, where they all enjoyed their free slushies.
A big day of fun --- and they came home with 12 bucks left to stick away for the next time.
