802 Kids at a church lock in

and not a bit of drama. I never saw the first kid crying because someone was mean or because they were left out. I never saw or didn't hear of any counselors or chaperons having tiffs. Amazingly, there was material available with complete details for church camp -- which isn't till next summer. REFRESHING.

What I saw and heard --- 802 kids in a university gym -- praising God as they sang to him. Listening intently as the speaker spoke about how choices they make today will affect their lives. And he should know -- he spent 3 years in the state prison system for drugs. He now is a changed man, thanks to accepting the Grace God so willingly gives to anyone who will just take it.

After the speaker was done and the kids shuffled through a line to devour a few hundred pizzas, the games began. The rest of the night was devoted to a continuous onslaught of volleyball tourneys, 3 on 3 basketball tourneys, dodgeball tourneys, ping pong, bowling, swimming, and some of the coolest inflatables I've ever seen. Human fooseball, twister, football and a huge obstacle course were there and ready to go.
I enjoyed a couple of hours of sleep in the car at about 3:30 in the morning and had a blast getting to know the kids better and watch them have fun.
