Mid week

Today I spent hours at the hospital getting pulmonary function tests and blood work done. We were just about done when the computer malfunctioned, wiping out the 5 longest tests -- and they had to be done over.

It could have been worse for me I suppose. I could have been the one having them done - instead I just sat by and watched - and wiped tears after the blood part. Nothing says good times like having a plastic pin holding your nose closed.

The results were not surprising. Wesley's asthma is as bad as always. There's no doubt he needs daily - sometimes hourly medicine to control it.

After we finally got done there, I took him out for lunch at DQ, where he finished off a mighty tasty Thin Mint Blizzard in record time. Afterwards, we went to buy books for the kids school work. Almost 500 dollars later, I left - knowing I would be back to do it again in about 4 months. And 4 months after that and so on and so on. Such is the price of homeschooling.

The last chore of the day was to put away all of the PEERS materials I hauled over from Andi's house to mine. Which meant I had to clean out a place for it. Which meant the kids had to help because they had trashed the place I had intended for it to go.

We got done in time to take Jacob to his first football practice and afterwards we went to church and then made a quick side trip to Tastee Freeze for the boys who didn't get to go to DQ today. Carly is spending the night with Andi tonight. After Ryan went to bed, Jacob, Wesley and I played a game of Upwords before bedtime.

Rockin' good times around here.
