Winding down
Summer camp for the kids is just about done. Today is one of their favorite days, a huge slip and slide down a big hill followed by marshmallow gun wars. They go to an Otters baseball game tomorrow night. Next week comes the annual trip to Shoe Carnival where they come away with their most expensive pair of shoes of the year - for free. I love camp.
The half marathon is looming at me - OK, it's almost 3 months away but in how many miles I have to walk, that is LOOMING. Yesterday, I walked 6 miles at a time for the first time. Today, I'm gonna try to increase it a bit. Andi wants to walk 10 on Monday. How crazy is that?
Both of my Bible study groups are going along great. Last week was the first weigh in for group number 2 and out of the 15 ladies that were there, they had lost 33 pounds during the week. I'd say that's a fabulous start.
Physical therapy is going well. I have 163 degrees of rotation in my arm. It should be 180. My therapist asked how much I wanted and of course, I said, 180. His reply, "Good luck with that." He seems to think I've about maxed out what I'm going to get back. And if I have, then I will just adjust a few things -- the way I sleep and the ability to fold my arms behind my head in my recliner for two. Since those are some of my favorite things to do, I'm hoping it gets better yet.
Kettle corn from the fair -- hmmmm. I'm thinking it could replace taffy as my favorite fair food. I bought Billski some, but I've taste tested it a few times to make sure it wasn't spoiled or anything and so far, it's still good. It's good that he has such a concerned wife.
