Catching up

I started off my day bright and early, rising to make homemade muffins from scratch to take to the CASA brunch today. I left the house like Red Riding Hood, with my basket of oatmeal muffins with strusel topping still warm from the oven -- only to find out the brunch was yesterday. I put this on my calendar right after dad died, so I'm cutting myself some slack as I normally wouldn't make such a mistake.

Lots of people were glad I did, however, because I just took my muffins to the courthouse and everyone from the security guards to the judges enjoyed them.

Carly got a short hair cut a few weeks ago and I'm just now getting around to posting a picture of it. Carly, Wes and Ryan all went to the dentist today - no cavities, but one more referral to the orthodontist. Carly will be seeing him next week to see what needs to be done to make her smile as lovely as her personality.

Molly had surgery last week to ensure there will be NO MORE DOGS in our house. It's grossing me out though that Atticus wants to sit around and lick her incision. Dogs can be so gross. Molly is on my bad side as she has chewed up 3 pairs of Keegan's shoes in the last 3 days. In case your math is poor, that's one pair of shoes per day. Keegan comes in wearing shoes and not long after, one will be missing and parts of it will eventually turn up. So if you see Keegan wearing mis-matched shoes, it's Molly's fault.

We have new rules concerning Keegan and what shoes he has left.....and Molly has a new muzzle.

I went to purchase the material I need for my tote bag we are making in the beginning sewing class I'm taking. Sewing is one thing I am absolutely horrible at. In all my years of school, I got one F. My sewing project. I remember convincing my mom I could do it and she bought me the most lovely, stretchy, comfy material for my sewing project. It was expensive and I just ruined it. I hope this material fares better, because I spent more than 2 tote bags would have cost. It's supposed to be a 6 pocket tote, so I bought some snaps to close the pockets and thought I would just sew some buttons on for decoration.

I told the kids if they were good, I would take them to Krispy Kreme where they could use one of their Valentine coupons for a free donut. Everyone was great in the store and almost to the car. Almost as in about 2 seconds from the car, Wesley got ticked because Ryan beat him to the car and called the side seat -- so Wes bit him. Not sure about the thinking process that went on there, but suffice to say Wesley was not biting into a donut.

I love to get bargains, so I was kicking myself for not saving the coupon from the Sunday paper for my fabric. Which takes me back to the dentist and brings me to this point of wrapping up this lengthy post. While at the dentist, I was reading a magazine and it listed some places online to get discount codes. You know when you're checking out and there might be a little discount code box -- and I seldom have a code to put in. Well, now I might. I checked these out this evening and they all seem to work, so I'm passing them on to you.

There are hundreds of stores listed so surely some of these will be useful. Right off the bat retailmenot.com had one for Penneys for $10.00 off of a $10.00 purchase. My kind of deal. Lots of them are for free or reduced shipping, which is always nice to find. Anyway, here they are and hope it helps.
