Update on my dad

It's been an extremely busy week - frustrating at times - stressful at times and I'm very thankful for the prayers and cards. While my brother works on the house and financial side of things, I have been doing the health and household things. We have gotten lots accomplished. On my end ----

He has had his MRI, had a psych evaluation and is unbelievably better since taking his medicine and eating on a regular basis. He will start on an anti depressant in the morning, which should also help. We rented an apartment for him in a senior citizen complex today. It's about 3 blocks from me and right across from the city lake park, where I'm sure he will enjoy sitting. In fact, he took his lunch there today and ate, while watching the geese.

I have many home health aids being delivered this week, including this clock that only tells the days of the week. I think that's going to be quite helpful. We have devised a plan to ensure he takes his insulin. He will be getting physical therapy to strengthen his legs. His cell phone arrived today so he can be contacted when he is out and about. His Lifeline bracelet should be here tomorrow.

He has an appointment with a geriatric doctor in 2 weeks. The paperwork for a lift recliner and a motorized scooter chair has been started. We have been furniture shopping and have purchased what he needs to furnish his apartment. Utilities have been arranged. And it goes on and on.....

I feel confident that he will be as safe as we could possibly make him and still provide him the ability to live by himself. He is a bit more like himself with each day that passes. Atticus will be making his arrival tomorrow and daddy will be be able to play with him at the park right across from his apartment.

Again - thank you so much for all of your prayers.
