Can you hear me now?

That was the subject of an email from Patricia this morning. She knew that I, being like Pooh in that we both obviously have very little brain, had agreed to let Jacob have Tim spend the night last night.

Now, that in itself would not cause a hearing loss. However, Jacob's guitar arrived yesterday and Tim was bringing his, also. Jacob's amp came without a cord, so there was just going to be one amp. But no, Tim had an extra and God bless him, he brought it along.

Who knew? Who knew that an amp that is basically smaller than my foot could put out such noise? Not me, but I quickly found out. And when I say quickly, I mean THE FIRST STRUM, which reverberated through the house with the help of the whammy bar. Oh, yeah, I experienced my first whammy bar vibrations last night, too. Think BOING very loud and long.

Of course none of this took place till after we got home from church, so I knew my neighbors would love me with a passion they normally keep in check unless I'm running a table saw at midnight.

So I immediately made a new house rule. No amps until actual songs can be played - not just whammy notes. They tried to tell me about 165 seconds later that they had learned a song, but even Pooh wouldn't have believed that one.

In the meantime, while Jacob learns, I'll be looking for a place for him to practice with an amp. A place far, far, away. I'll supply the extension cords if you supply the garage. Any takers?
