The Look of Love - Wesley

Last night at our ladies meeting, Sherie was the speaker and she had a great lesson. I think it was probably the best lesson I've ever heard at one of our meetings. At the end of the lesson, we were given a packet of slips of paper to pass out to other ladies at the meeting. Each paper had one of the attributes of 1st Corinthians 13, commonly known as The Love Chapter of the Bible and you were to give them to people who you felt reflected those attributes.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

I was looking over the list this morning. It is interesting to see how others see you. It was laid out as follows:

I am patient.
I am kind.
I do not envy others.
I do not brag.
I am not arrogant.
I am polite.
I consider how my actions affect others and act accordingly.
I am slow to anger.
I am able to forgive and forget.
I resist evil.
I am honest.
I am protective of others. (physically and emotionally)
I am trusting.
I am hopeful for others in theirs struggles and/or pursuits.
I am committed to relationships.

Of course not all of mine were checked. Nobody had them all checked, but wouldn't it be nice if we did? As I studied the list today, one person kept coming to my mind as someone who DID reflect just about every one of these good qualities.

Wesley. Wesley, who just happens to turn 9 years old today is the person who I know who most reflects the face of love. It seems like just days ago when he came to live with us, it's hard to believe it's been almost 9 years.

Happy birthday, Wes. I pray that you will always reflect the face of love like you do today.

I love you Wes-man.
