Opening Day

Sherie has an official opening day of November 1, so the final preparations are being made to the shop. We have spent many hours over the last day and a half holed up in my garage making an awesome display table out of what we like to call "scraps and crap." We are hoping to finish that today. Late Sunday when we were building the base and Lowe's was closed, we were getting a bit desperate for wood. So we made the decision to sacrifice the wooden sawhorses for the good of the project. Billski will be getting me some space efficient plastic sawhorses for Christmas this year. :)

Andi has been busy doing little odds and ends helping out, in between hanging around practically upside down like an owl. I took Andi back to the doctor again Monday and she has a second medicine now to use for contraction stopping. This one she just uses when she feels any cramping at all and the other one she uses daily. I like that her doctor is so on top of the possibility of premature labor. He is the same doctor who delivered Zac 13 weeks early.

Also, over the weekend, Mike, Sherie, Andi and I laid the floor in the work room of the shop. Andi was just the "handler." Nothing strenuous, opening boxes and handing us pieces, but it certainly kept us from getting up and down a few hundred times. I've never put down a floor like this, but if I ever put down another floor of this type in my house - this will be what I use. Depending on how well it holds up. The floor is called Konnecto and it was amazingly easy to put down.

Both Wes and Jacob have a fever and headache - I'm guessing the same thing Sophie had over the weekend. Jacob is on day 2 and Wes woke me up in the middle of the night complaining that his head was hurting.

It's days like this that make me glad I don't have to make the decision on rather to go to work or not. I can just be home where I'm needed the most. I have my cooking class to prepare for tonight and that should be fun. Attendance is picking up for that. The first one I did had about 5 people there and this one had 16 people registered. I think the word is out - "Come get fed for free and have fun doing it."
