As Sophie approaches her first birthday

Every time she turns to me when I call her name;

Every time she leans to kiss me when I say "Give Mamaw a kiss.";

Every time she laughs or makes some of her many quirky sounds;

Every time I tell her to point to the pig in her book and she does it;

Every time I ask "Where's my nose?" and she shows me;

Every time I say "Give Mamaw a hug." and I get one;

Every time I yell for her and she comes crawling - looking for me;

Every time - I know she does these things because God can do the impossible. It's because last October, He heard and answered our prayers that Sophie would be able to hear and I never want to take that for granted.
