All week long I've been meaning to do this

Jodi is having a contest in honor of her birthday - we won't say how old she is. It's simple. Write a post about your favorite book when you where a child and have a chance to win a book.

My favorite books were always The Boxcar Children. I read them over and over and over and -- well, you get the idea. I love the adventure aspect of it and I would pretend I was Jessie, taking care of my family. I would play Boxcar Children out in the woods behind my house.

When Andi was just a baby, I started buying the entire series for her and was thrilled when she loved them, too. Now, Carly reads them. I have read them aloud to my kids. Recently we donated all of them to the church library so that others could read them, but we all know right where they are should we need a quick fix of Henry, Jessie, Violet and Benny.
