The Early Bird
I got up at 6:00 this morning, thinking I was getting an early start on the day. I was wrong. The kids were still all asleep, however, when I walked into the kitchen, I found this pile of books by my desk waiting to be graded.
At some point from the time I went to bed last night at 1:15 and when I got up this morning, Ryan was up. And he did his school work for today. All waiting to be graded are his spelling, his reading, his math, his letters and sounds and his phonics book.
Now all that is left for him to finish are the things I teach and read to him, Bible, science, history and music. I'd say he's well on his way to playing outside today.
I have no idea WHAT was going on in his mind that he felt compelled to do these during the night, but I'm sure it's going to be an interesting conversation.
Edited to add - even as I sit here laughing.... I gave Ryan his spelling test this morning and the word was slide. He said s-l-i-d. I asked him what was at the end of it. His answer, "A mud puddle." And yesterday when we went to the park, that is exactly what was at the end of slide.
