The Weekend Report - Wes and the Glowing Boy

Well our weekend has been filled with rain, fun, rain, a Duke game Friday which they won, rain, a Duke game Saturday, which they won, rain, church, family, rain, friends, Wesley's 7th birthday party, a Duke game Sunday, which they won for the ACC championship, rain, and did I mention..... rain?

We have had 7.9 inches of rain in the last 48 hours. Wesley had the birthday presents of his dreams today. Everything he got was about Jeff Gordon. Jeff Gordon remote control race car, lunchbox, books, clothes, even a case for his glasses. He LOVES Jeff Gordon yet he has never even watched 5 minutes of a Nascar race. Strange.

Wesley put the race car on top of Carly's head and started it, (you gotta wonder why here) effectively winding her hair around the axis is no time flat. I'm just thankful that rather than resorting to his previous way of removing stuck items from hair, he sought help. I'm sure Carly is thankful too.

We also had a new transmission put into Bill's truck this weekend. He mentioned something about me pulling the camper in the wrong gear - but I'm sure he was just kidding -- although the mechanic mentioned something similar when I picked it up today.

It was a great weekend, culminating with Ryan biting into a glow bracelet after he was in bed tonight and having all the glowing stuff squirt into his mouth. Jacob - thinking quickly - yelled at him to spit it out - so Ryan did. All over the bedroom, himself, the floor. I checked the package while Andi searched the internet, and we quickly determined it was non-toxic. And I will say, it was fairly simple to clean up. It's not as if you can't see the stuff. Just wipe up the glowing spots.

We finished up the weekend by establishing the "no glow bracelets in bed" rule, along with the "do NOT bite the glow bracelets at any time rule.
