Pancake Day
Today Jacob decided he wanted pancakes for breakfast -- and he wanted to make them himself. Carly and Wes went to to my mom's house last night and will be home in the morning, so the boys and I are going to go to the park after we get done with our school work. Or maybe before -
you have that kind of freedom when you homeschool. We can do schoolwork anytime. The weather might not be good all day - so why take a chance?
Ryan was not in the mood to try Jacob's first pancakes - he didn't have faith that Jacob knew what he was doing and he wanted a sure fire thing. So he opted for Pancake and Sausage on a stick.
These little jewels are available at Wal-Mart and all the kids love them. So do I. They are great for camping - just pop them in the microwave. Ryan was almost done eating by the time Jacob got around to flipping that first flapjack. He suddenly took a keen interest in the cooking process and was close by when Jacob sat down to enjoy the fruits of his labor. And when he was watching Jacob eat, I was imagining he was regretting his decision because with each bite Jacob put in his mouth, Ryan inched closer and closer. In my mind - I could just imagine this is what he was picturing:
