Abbreviated Girl's Trip
During July we had a family girl's trip planned for 3 days of fun and feasting. It was sidetracked by a certain canoe trip and helicopter ride and all reservations were cancelled. As I laid in the hospital getting ready to go to surgery, I remember commenting that I was supposed to be getting a pedicure that morning - not having screws and plates put into my collarbone.
Yesterday, we had a very short, but much fun girl's time. My mom and stepfather treated me, my two sister in laws, 2 of my nieces, Andi and Andie to a wonderful day. We started off with a big breakfast followed up by whatever we wanted done at the salon. I had my first pedicure and I don't know what joy juice that girl was rubbing into my feet, but I was quite content to let her do it for about 4 hours. Everyone had their fill of haircuts, highlights, pedicures, manicures and facials.
We did a bit of shopping and went to see the movie, Crazy, Stupid Love. It was funny and then we shopped a bit more before we went to dinner at O'Charley's. Everyone had to head home then -- (I think they thought I was gong home to rest), but nope.
I went to get Carly, who had volunteered to watch Benjamin and then took her to see Soul Surfer at the theater. That was a really good movie as well and then she and I did a bit of clothes shopping for Sophie, who starts school next week.
Did you read that right? Starts School Next Week. Not preschool, but real, live kindergarten. She is so ready. I am soooooooooo not. I remember writing on this blog when we found out Andi was pregnant and now that baby is starting school? Crazy. I've told Andi I'm going to be needing the PTSD therapy after next week -- and I'm only about half kidding.
Time sure flies when you're having fun ~~ but then again ~~ if flies even if you're not. So, you might as well try to have some fun!
