Summer begins

Carly, Wesley and Ryan are all going to day camp for the next four weeks. Andi is not working this summer, which means Sophie and Keegan are spending their days at home. That leaves me and my little friend, Jacob.

Today, after the kids were dropped off at camp, he and I went to the zoo. It was a surprise for him as he loves to go to the zoo -- and I don't. It's not that I don't like the animals, I just don't like the layout of the local zoo, which is built on the hilliest land around for miles.

After we went to the zoo, we had some Chinese food for lunch, did a bit of shopping, got Jacob's hair cut, and then took in a cheap movie. By the time we got done with that, the other kids were all gone to VBS for the evening.

Everybody had a fun day and I know the kids will certainly enjoy this month of camp and Jacob and I will have some Fun Day Mondays.
