Christmas 2010

Everyone got to be together and all the kids got way too much stuff, ate too much and had a great time. Everyone loved their gifts and once again, we took probably 20 family pictures to try and get one where everyone was remotely looking the same direction without grimacing.

Sophie had a surprise for everyone. She had been practicing "reading" the Christmas Story and so she told the story of the birth of Jesus this year before we opened our gifts. And in what has to qualify as the one of the most sweetest gift I have ever gotten in my life -- this apron. Not the apron itself, but Zac knows I don't like aprons with wide strings around my neck, so he took out the string that came in the apron and replaced it with one he made. He went and bought ribbon to match the apron and hand stitched a string that went from around my waist to up around my neck. It took him hours to do and there's lots of knots. It sure wouldn't win a 4-H ribbon, but it's number 1 in my heart that my 26 year old son would do this for me. I am loved.
