To finish off a day when you have nothing to blog about
Just in case you were wondering....... If you have a 13 year old son, carrying a 6 quart crock pot filled with cooked roast, it will make a very large mess when dropped on the kitchen floor. The gravy in said crock pot will help you quickly figure out which way your kitchen floor slants and the little minced onions will float along merrily in said river of gravy. If you added mushrooms, don't expect much action from them. They will just lay there like slugs.
I know all of this from recent personal experience. When it happened this evening, I considered taking a picture, but was just sort of frozen. I sent Jacob off to wash the hot gravy off of his feet and then returned to my frozen state, almost mesmerized by what I was seeing unfold in front of my eyes,. Andi, more a woman of action did a bit more.
She, looked at me, looked at the floor, looked at me, looked at the floor and then said, "I have an idea."
I answered, "Me too. Let's move."
But that would have involved tracking through the meat many times, so instead, we cleaned.
How big was the mess? Well, according to Wesley, who is currently studying area the mess was approximately 7o square foot.
8 beach towels, lots of soap and water and amonia, followed by a thorough cleaning of Mean Green cleaned the mess while Sophie and Keegan chanted, "Go, Mamaw." Inspiring for me, but not so much for Andi and Jacob who were cleaning as well.
So the floor was salvaged and the meat..... well, if I invite you over for roast in the next few days, you may just want to say no.
