Brain Strain - The Donkey Race

I know you're out there -- those people that just LOVE to figure these problems out. Here is a problem today from Jacob's book -- feel free to figure it out and send me the answer.

Five donkeys named Don, Dave, Danny, Dina and Daphne decided to have a race. The donkeys finished in 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th places. To help identify themselves as they went racing around the track, they decided to wear numbers. The numbers were 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5.

The donkeys hired jockeys that had five different names. Their names were Samsler, Toejamm, Gorple, Gitzer and Blueger.

The jockeys were all different animals. They were a raccoon, badger, coyote, squirrel and woodchuck.

Based on the clues, match donkey names with order of finish, numbers worn, jockey names and animal types.

Here are the clues:

1. No donkey had a number on its saddle that matched the order of finish.

2. Dave finished on place in front of Dina and Daphne finished two places in front of Dina, but Daphne did not win the race.

3. Danny finished two places of front of Dave but Danny didn't win the race.

4. Dina's saddle number was larger than Don's saddle number and Daphne's saddle number was larger than Dave's saddle number, but Daphne's saddle number was smaller than Don's saddle number.

5. Gitzer finished behind both Toejamm and Blueger but in front of the badger and the coyote.

6. Samsler, who wasn't the badger, finished the race behind Gorple.

7. The squirrel finished behind the woodchuck, who wasn't named Blueger, but the raccoon finished behind the squirrel.

OK now - let's have some answers.
