Ryan's mail today
I wish I could have videotaped his smiles as I reached under my jacket to bring out the mail, piece by piece for him to open. It only took a few envelopes for him to be giggling and then shoving my arm toward my jacket to get the next one. 25 in all today. Most were from people I know, some were people I've never heard of and one was from Wego - our old dog. He thought that was great. He also mentioned the pop up card showing him in a fishing boat. He really liked that one, too. And now he wants to go to Florida, thanks to the postcard on the bottom right of Treasure Island, Florida, sent by D.
Ryan is doing well overall. He was very anxious last night according to his nurse. He was extremely fidgety during our visit today - but maybe that was from excitement. I don't know. He did have one incident yesterday during a group session. The therapist said that he was clinching his fist repeatedly and then just slugged the kid next to him on the leg. When asked why he hit him, he replied, "I didn't hit him. I just lightly tapped him."
Having seen his light taps in action - I hope the kid was bigger than Ryan. I suppose we will be discussing that in our family session tomorrow. I don't know when Ryan will be discharged yet. Perhaps we will be discussing that as well. Please keep praying for him. Thanks.
