Trying new foods
In our ever changing dietary world, the kids have eaten things that I never have tried before in my almost 50 years of living. This week alone:
Bok choi - everyone like it - it was simmered in chicken broth with onion and a bit of garlic salt.
Eggplant - everyone HATED it - even though it was covered in cheese and pasta sauce (2 of their favorites)
Rutabagas - Wes and Jacob liked it. It was simmered in chicken broth with green onions, garlic and cabbage added at the last minute.
Any suggestions for other unlikely veggies? Don't forget to tell me how to cook them. If it's not potatoes or it doesn't come in a can or freezer bag, it's uncharted territory.
