Recapping the week
It's June in Indiana and that translates to hot, humid, muggy, miserable weather and I hate being out in it for any reason for longer than 45 seconds - which is about as long as it takes to get from the house to the car and from the car into where I'm going. If anyone ever tries to get you to vacation in Indiana because of the beautiful summer weather, they're lying to you and you should be wary of such a person.
Unless I want to get up at 5 am to go walking, it is too gross by 8 to be outside - so I've been doing a Leslie Sansone video inside in the AC. This is a fun change of pace and it's pretty easy to entice others to come in out of the heat and do it with me. As of this morning, I've lost 33 pounds.
Jacob has been gone to Camp Brosend all week. I'm going to pick him in a couple of hours. I'm sure he will have great tales of adventure to share.
The other kids have been swimming just about every day this week once their school work is done. It's nice that they are of an age where they can stay at the pool by themselves for a couple of hours. It's even nicer that we live close enough that they can walk to it.
We had an insurance adjuster out yesterday because we had some ceiling shingles blow off in the wind storms. He found enough damage to justify replacing the whole roof. Thanking God for that :)
All of the materials for the second Bible study have arrived and I am excited to see people gearing up to begin that. Our final count is 18 ladies who will be doing the First Place 4 Health study. All 10 of the original group want to continue, so for now, I will be having 2 separate Bible studies going on.
Andi had another allergic reaction at work yesterday and another trip to the doctor. At least this time she was able to just go to her doctor and not the ER. More shots, more steroids, with an added bonus of daily pills and an appointment for allergy testing to be done.
Zac and Molly are getting along somewhat. Molly hasn't changed much, but he is determined to wait her out because he sees the makings of a good dog in her. If he does decide to get rid of her, Steve, (my ex-husband) has said Molly can come live there.
Physical therapy is pretty much horrible. Today I am supposed to start doing some stretching things at home with weights. Not looking forward to that at all.
Normally, I don't comment on news happenings, but all the people "mourning" Michael Jackson just kinda make me want to smack them up the side of the head. I won't waste a second of my life mourning for a child molester - but instead feel sorry for his victims whose parents took money in exchange for their silence. Those children were victimized by both Jackson and their parents.
Tomorrow I am going to go help with the fund raiser for our diabetes walking team at the east side Wal-Mart in Evansville. I plan on being there starting at 10 in the morning. Come on out and support us - or else, just click on my dad's face at the top of my blog and stay in comfort of your home.
As for me, I'll be the one enjoying the lovely southern Indiana summer weather that I love so much. Because this post is so long, you might have forgotten about our weather. If so, refer to paragraph 1.
