Where's a camera when you need it?

Well, mine happens to be in the repair shop so that explains the lack of pictures lately. With that in mind, you'll just have to use your imagination as I take you on an adventure with Jacob.

Holiday World, is the amusement park that the kids have season passes for. This year, Holiday World opened a new ride, called the Pilgrims Plunge, which just happens to be the tallest water ride in the world.

Some of the kids were excited about riding it and some were terrified. But only one felt the need to "practice." Here is where my video camera would have been handy - but even then, I had no idea what I was about to see, so I probably wouldn't have been filming it anyway.

Jacob gets a bar stool and sits it in the middle of the kitchen floor. He paces back and forth across the floor as if he were waiting in the long lines where they herd you through like cattle. He finally gets into the ride, fastens his imaginary seat belt and talks to the person beside him in an excited, animated voice.

OK, so far. Next comes the air lift. The ride consists of boats which hold 10 people each and they are just lifted to the top of the tower in an elevator shaft of sorts. Jacob pretends to ooh and ahh as he points out various points of interest.

At the top, he throws his hands up in the air, leans forward till he's about falling out of the stool and yells loudly like a scared little girl. I think the ride is over. Obviously I was wrong.

Lastly and most unexpectedly is the part where he reached over, picked up a 20 ounce glass of water and threw it at himself.

Have you ever seen your kid do something that just left you speechless? As I sat watching the water soak into his clothes, drip down off of him onto the floor and start to puddle, there was really nothing to say. At that point you might as well laugh.
