Interview me
Following Amy's lead the other day, I played along in the interview game and waited for my questions to come in the mail. They arrived yesterday and following are my questions and answers. And, if you want me to interview you - just read the instructions at the bottom of this post!
1) What is your favorite guilty pleasure? First, I had to determine what a guilty pleasure even was -- I came across this definition "an activity hidden to keep oneself from becoming the butt of family and friends' jokes". Then it went on to list some things such as watching stupid or trashy TV shows, reading trashy novels, eating expensive meals, shopping, chocolates and things along that line. Seems that my life is pretty much an open book in these areas.
I've given up Grey's Anatomy, haven't read a trashy novel - or really any novel since Jacob was born. Funny how that worked out, because I thought when I quit work when he was born I would have all kinds of time to read. Hmm, not so much. I've even posted a picture of my candy stash I keep right by my recliner. I hate to shop in general and my idea of a good meal doesn't exceed $12.99 usually. In fact, when I watch shows where they are cooking "rich people" food, I cringe. I always comment to Andi that I could never be rich if I had to eat that stuff. Bring me some Milk Duds and Mt. Dew and I'm good.
2) Where do you see yourself in 10 years? At that time, my kids will range in age from 19 - 35. It's funny to imagine having a kid who is 35, when that used to seem so old to me. Now it seems so distant.........in the past. All of my kids should be graduated and started in their careers or in college. Sophie will be 12 - Keegan 11 and I'm sure I'll be the proud Mamaw in the audience of their activities. I don't expect to be moved from the same house I live in right now. I hope my kids will all live close to me and we can have lots of family dinners and good times.
3) If you found a $10 bill in your purse, what would you do with it? Stick it with my other money and spend as needed (or wanted).
4) What is one thing you want to be sure your children know before they leave your home? That God loves them no matter what they do - and so do I. That God can be trusted to never let them down and that He will never abandon them. That even though they may never know the reasons things happen to them -- good or bad -- they should never turn away from God. That God is in control and that's a good thing. Rest in that knowledge.
5) If you could meet one person - who's alive today - who would it be and why? I would like to have a meeting with Judge James Payne, Director of the Indiana Department of Child Services to tell him a thing or two about the asinine decisions he has made since his appointment and how they have adversely affected the children in foster care.
