The Ice Man Cometh
and when he left, he took our electricity, cable, phone and Internet with him. The electricity was just off for about 14 hours, so that wasn't too bad. My friend, Heidi, wasn't so lucky so last night she and Larry along with their 9 kids came and spent the night. Oh yeah, they brought their 5 snakes, too. They "forgot" to mention that part till they were here. Hmmm. Suspicious, don't you think?
Their power came back on this afternoon and about 4 my friends, the Insight Cable Company guys showed up to fix all my other woes. I was so happy to see those guys they left with warm cookies and coconut pie. So all was back to normal........for about 4 hours. Then the water went off all over town. Not sure how long that will be.
The ice has our trees hanging down LOW - as in laying on the ground. I am living in dread of the sound of cracking branches. I love my trees - but what will be will be. It's not like I can thaw them out or anything.
The kids did go play out for a good long while yesterday but I didn't get any pictures. I did get this one of Sophie getting ready to go out. She was practicing her snow angels on the kitchen floor. And practicing getting up, which took quite some doing the first time.
Spring can show up any time now.
