Dog question

Atticus has a hurt paw. I don't know whether he should go to the vet or not. I talked with her at church Wednesday and she said I was doing the right thing - putting Neosporin on it. We have tried to keep it bandaged, but that dog has proven his ability to chew through many things in the past 2 days. My main concern is how the entire paw pad is red and not just the hurt spot.

Any thoughts?
