The Wild Kingdom
Bill took the kids to the Animal Kingdom today and I started my day off with a different sort of wild kingdom -- the McDonald's Play Place.
It was Sophie's first time in the bubble and although she stayed long enough for a picture, she had no interest in going back up again. I made this picture with my phone. No doubt I looked like an idiot standing there with my phone up in the air trying to get close enough to take it.
We picked up a couple of friends of the boys to take along with us to McPlay and then I did something totally against my nature -- I bought Happy Meals. I think that was the second time in my life I've done that. I'm just more into McBargains than McHappiness.
Due to an appointment running much longer than planned, our escalator escapade had to be put off till tomorrow, which means I will no doubt have to throw in some elevator rides to make up for it.
We are supposed to have some bad winter weather beginning in the morning, so I hope it doesn't affect our plans. We have a big day on the books, including skating and swimming.
Jacob and Carly are continuing to report that vacation is wonderful. I'm sure there will be LOTS of pictures to post next week because Bill told me he bought two new memory cards tonight since the two he took are full. They all sound exhausted. I think tomorrow they are going to a water park just so they can "rest."
We all "watched" the eclipse together tonight as they were on the phone and reporting how much of the moon was covered at the same time we were watching it here. Somehow, that made them seem a bit closer.
