How's this for nice?
I got an email earlier this week that reads:
"You know it cracks me up that every morning I used to sit down and read the news (including obituaries) and then get off of my computer. Now I find myself clicking on your blog as my first thing to do in the morning. It is a LOT more pleasant reading about your family and it’s goings on than reading the news. Thanks for all the smiles you have brought me over the past year or so through your blog."
Well, mam, you are welcome. Thank you for your kind words. Nothing like a little pressure to make sure to blog daily. Hate to lose a reader to the Courier and Press.
The same day I received that email, I had a long discussion with someone who was encouraging me to put ads on my blog to make money. Or to hire myself out to an ad company such as Pay Per Post. According to my site meter, my blog has about 200 people a day who come by for a visit. That alone just amazes me. Now if just 100, 75, 50, 35 20 or so of those people would comment, I would be even more amazed. So why not amaze me today?
Anyway, I considered the ads. I had already given it some serious thought before this conversation and a lot more since. But when all is said and done, ads are not for me.
So my blog will continue to be just what I intended it to be - the scrapbook of our life. It's a way to keep track of our daily lives so that family and friends can keep up with us. I think it is neat that my kids will be able to look back and see so many of their days documented, along with what their mom and dad were like before we became old fogeys.
