What has 40 fingers, 40 toes
6 infected ears, 4 infected throats, 2 infected respiratory systems, 4 bottles of Amoxicillin and is grouchy all over?
My four little kids. Carly woke up not feeling well yesterday and slept much of the day away in a fevered state. Today, more of the same. So I made her a dr. appointment, knowing the doctor is out on Wednesday and not wanting to wait till Thursday. By the time we got there, Wesley, who 3 hours before had a slight headache, was sporting his own 104.5 fever.
By the time we got back into the examining room an hour later, Jacob was complaining of a headache and sore throat. His chart was pulled and after looking at all of them, we did Ryan -- just for good measure and to avoid a return trip. Ryan's right tonsil was so huge it had about closed off his throat - how he was NOT complaining is the mystery of the day.
I lost track of who had what once I saw the Amoxicillin pattern emerging. But overall, I'm glad we are hopefully getting this out of the way before Christmas and everyone is doing it all at once. That certainly doesn't happen often -- usually it's one after another, so in a weird way, this is quite a blessing!

Edited Wednesday morning to add: Ryan told me first thing this morning that his head hurt. So I stuck the themometer in his mouth and in a few minutes he found me to tell me his temperature was ten twenty five -- or in more medical terms 102.5.
