As far as the kids go....
Things around here are going great. At least every few days one of the kids mention how much happier life at home is. It's really strange in a strange sort of way.
Carly showed me a cute button on her purse the other day that said something along the lines of "I'm awesome." I asked her where she got it and she said that Jacob had put it on her bulletin board as a surprise for her.
INSERT LOUD SCREECHING BRAKE SOUNDS HERE......
What? Did she just say that? I just whipped my head around to stare at her like she had just said she had decided to become a Moonie and she just laughed and said, "I know, right?" Jacob and Carly have gotten along like oil and water in the past.
The kids are all getting along wonderfully. The air is light and if there were birds in the house, I'm telling you, they would be tweeting happily.
As for me, I am happy. Very happy actually.
I've started working a job at home for a company that takes calls during PBS pledge drives and for other companies like ASPCA and Make A Wish foundation. I can work in any 30 minute shift around the clock as little or as much as I want. So it's quite convenient.
Also, I am going to school to learn to drive a bus. When I decided to do this, I had no idea bus drivers had so much training, but if your kids are on a bus in Indiana, trust me, that driver has been through the wringer before ever sitting in that seat with your precious cargo.
I chose to do this because even though Bill has ensured I don't have to work, it will be nice to just have a nest egg for vacations and other fun stuff. Or for things like new tires that aren't so fun, but seem to be a necessity.
The bus driving job will be one I can do also only on days I want to work. The first run would be done before Carly is ever awake and for the afternoon run, she can go with me. So that works out perfectly for us.
So there you have it. All is well. Life is good.
