Busy Day Looming

Mondays, in general, are not my favorite day of the week. The kids are grumpy because it's the start of another school week. I'm probably a bit grumpy because it's the start of another school week and they are reluctant students on Mondays. So I usually try to keep Mondays appointment free if possible.

Today is the exception. My morning will start off with an MRI of my shoulder which has been hurting for months now. I've gone through several prescriptions and one heating pad, so it's time to see if something is really wrong inside. At this point, although I'm not looking forward to any possible surgery, the thought of it NOT hurting every day would be wonderful.

I have a meeting with the hearing aid people today to evaluate how effective Dad's hearing aids are. I have no idea what to tell them since he's not been much of a conversationalist the last two weeks --- unless you count, "Fire in the hole!" which is pretty much all he's said lately. His mind has him stuck in the coal mines.

Right after that I have a meeting with the nursing home powers that be because dad kicked this poor girl smack in the face when she bent down to pick up something he had dropped Friday afternoon. I'm sure the words sedated and medication will be used liberally during this meeting and as much as we don't want that, we want him to hurt someone even less.

From there, it's off to the orthodontist with Jacob for his last appointment before he gets his braces on in two weeks.

Lastly, the kids have basketball practice tonight. Keegan and Sophie will be hanging out here today while Andi works and I suppose tonight while she goes to derby practice.

Tomorrow is looking better. Clear with a chance of Duke basketball in the evening.
