"Does Pappaw have enough money?"

Ryan asked me this morning. He was worried that Pappaw couldn't pay his hospital bill.

I told him that the insurance company was paying for Pappaw to stay in the hospital. He then told me if Pappaw ran out of insurance money, he could have the money he got for his birthday because he wanted him to get better.

There's a whole lot of sweetness hidden behind his gruff exterior.
