Court today for Ryan
After awards time for Sophie and Keegan, I spent several hours of my life at the courthouse for a progress hearing for Ryan. It was the first time I have seen him since he left here January 2, 2013. We talked for a bit and then it was time to go into the courtroom.
Ryan has requested that my parental rights be terminated so that he can be adopted by another family. I have been asking for this to happen for 2 years. I don't know if a family will be found. CFS has been trying for over 2 years to even find a home that would take him as a foster child. They have not been successful. Today, I signed some paperwork which would allow CFS to put Ryan's profile in adoption fairs and other venues to look for a family. I hope they make sure it is a family where he is the only child and the parents are physically strong.
However, after much discussion, the judge appointed an attorney to represent Ryan in his termination bid. There is no way Ryan is coming back here to live, as his behavior is not conducive to safe, family life.
We go back to court in November. Hopefully, we will make progress toward our mutual goal of allowing Ryan to get on with his life.
