Andi's Medical Update

On May 5th, Andi had a seizure at work.  From what her co-workers said, it was pretty significant.  It was the first one since she got sick several years ago.  Her doctor kept her off work for a week after that. She went back to neurologist on the 12th and she will now be off work till at least June 13th.  A month. Since her seizure (during? because of?) she has lost all her lower peripheral vision.  She cannot drive. At all. If she's looking straight at the road, she can't see the front of the car. She has to have an MRI Thursday to see if her brain lesions are bigger. She also has to see an ophthalmologist. We do not know if she can ever drive again. We do not know if the vision loss is temporary or the beginning of something bigger.  Lots of scary unknowns at the moment.

She has been having quite a bit of problems lately. Lots of headaches, dizziness, balance problems, word slurring.  I know the doctor said when she was diagnosed with viral encephalitis, that she would be having problems for about a year, while she recovered.  That was in July, 2011 ~~ almost 3 years ago, which makes me wonder if the diagnosis was right after all.
