First train ride

Today, I took Sophie and Keegan to French Lick for their first train ride. Andi and Kate happened to have the day off from work, so they went along with us. We had a fun time and they both really enjoyed the train ride -- mostly. They did not know it was a ride where the "robbers" would show up and rob the train.  As the horse riders came galloping out of the corn fields and shooting their guns off, Keegan started slipping lower and lower into the seat.  When the conductor announced that people should hide their valuables, Keegan was quietly tucking his stuffed animal up the back of his shirt and leaning on it.

 

It took quite a bit of convincing him it was all pretend, but in the end, he and the robber were quite chummy.  They also sat on a horse for the first time  and they both loved that part.  I hope they always remember what fun we had today.
