Pecans Galore (Look how BIG these kids are getting)

Last week, I took a trip to Louisiana with my friend, Gwen.  It wasn't a happy trip, as her father is dying.  I was glad to be able to take her down there to see him for the last time this side of heaven.

However, while I was there, I picked up a huge bag of pecans, which the kids had the "experience" of shelling.  Now I know why the price of pecans is so high.  What a time consuming chore. 

We will be using the pecans over the next few weeks in holiday recipes and I'll be glad to have them.
