New York City - 911 Museum

Today was the most intense day I’ve ever had at a museum.  We spent several hours in the 911 Memorial Museum.

The pictures, the stories, the artifacts,  recordings and the messages were almost too much to take in. The first responders who ran into the dust cloud when others were running away, never to be seen again were true heroes. The missing posters of family members that were posted were heartbreaking. Throughout the museum, if a name was of someone who died that day, their name had an oak leaf engraved by it.

There were far too many oak leaves.
